Ever since it's founding in 1948, Honda has been well known for it's outstanding engineering. In the following 50 years, they added public responsibility and will to help the environment. It has become an international company employing over 137000 people, a business network with 319 branches and 120 manufacturing plants spread over 29 countries. 12.28 millions motocycles and quad bikes, 5.55 millions engine products and 3.37 millions automobiles were sold in 2005. That translates into a 10% rise from 2004. Honda is the world largest engine manufacturing company in the world. These engines work in all kinds of machines - motorcycles, cars, generators etc, the spectrum starts with little powered tools up to experimental aircaft engines, powered by a hybrid drive - all sold world wide. Honda also was the first company to introduce a hybrid electric/combustion engine. An experimental solar powered car, The Dream, was also developed there.
